About me

Hi, I’m Joanne. I am an integrative counsellor who works with adults and young people aged 16 and over. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk openly about whatever is troubling you. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low in confidence, or simply unsure of where to start. My priority is to help you feel safe, understood, and supported as you begin to make sense of your experiences. Therapy is not about having everything figured out from the beginning — we can explore things gradually, at a pace that feels right for you.

My approach combines person-centred values with evidence-based therapeutic methods, allowing the work to be tailored to your individual needs. This may involve gently exploring past experiences, understanding difficult emotions, or looking at the patterns that influence how you feel today. When helpful, I also integrate practical strategies so you can develop tools to manage anxiety, low mood, stress, or relationship challenges in your day-to-day life. Therapy with me is collaborative; I believe that when you feel genuinely heard and supported, you can begin to build clarity, confidence, and lasting emotional strength.

I have experience working with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, panic, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, low self-worth, and complex emotional experiences. My work is grounded in empathy, compassion, and respect, and I aim to help you reconnect with your strengths and develop healthier ways of coping. Whether you’re seeking support for a specific issue or wanting a space to reflect and understand yourself more deeply, I am here to walk alongside you and help you move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
