Background
Hi, I’m Jane. I’m passionate about helping people find their strengths, believe in themselves, and build happier, more meaningful lives. For me, therapy isn’t just about self-improvement—it’s also about letting go of the version of ourselves we’ve had to create to survive. When we go through difficult times, we often lose touch with who we really are. Therapy can help us find our way back.
I’m based in Manchester, but I grew up in Wales and come from a mixed heritage background—Black African and Indian. My path into counselling was shaped by personal experiences of trauma, sadness, and loss. I know how heavy life can feel when we carry unresolved pain, and I’m grateful for the support that helped me lighten that load. Now, I offer the same space and support to others.
I’ve been practising for over five years, working with adults from all backgrounds. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where we can talk through what’s brought you here and help you reconnect with who you are.
My Approach
I practise from a person-centred perspective, which means our work is built on empathy, trust, and a belief in your ability to grow. I listen without judgement and work collaboratively to understand your feelings, experiences, and goals.
I often support people working through issues related to abuse, relationship struggles, and identity—including race, culture, and belonging. I offer a warm, open space where you can begin to explore what’s really going on and what you need to move forward.
In our first sessions, we’ll talk about what’s brought you to therapy and what you’d like to gain from the process. I’ll be honest with you: therapy takes commitment. While I’ll support you throughout, the work often continues outside the sessions too. I offer both short- and long-term therapy, and we can take it at your pace. Whether we meet online or in person, I’ll always work with you to shape the process in a way that feels right for you.
