About me

Hi, I’m Tom, a psychodynamic therapist based in Manchester. I see therapy as a turning point — a chance to pause, reflect, and make sense of the things we’ve carried for too long. Before training as a therapist, I spent many years working in addiction services, where I saw the impact of unaddressed trauma, shame, and emotional pain.

I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-worth, trust issues, and relationship difficulties. Often these struggles have been present for some time. My aim is to help you explore how past experiences may be influencing your current challenges, while also supporting you to move forward with greater clarity and resilience.

In our sessions, you’ll find a calm, non-judgemental environment where you can talk openly at your own pace. There’s no pressure to perform — just an invitation to reflect, explore, and grow. My style is human-first, shaped by empathy, authenticity, and deep listening.

I practise from an integrative foundation, combining person-centred and pluralistic approaches with behavioural tools and creative elements, depending on what feels most useful for you. My work is also rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which helps bring unconscious patterns into awareness and explores how early attachments may still shape your emotional world today. This approach suits clients seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and who are open to longer-term, reflective work.
