About me
Hi, I’m Waqas. I believe in being upfront: therapy isn’t always easy, and it isn’t always comfortable. Together we may explore difficult or unresolved issues that feel painful to face. While this can be unsettling at times, it is often where real transformation happens. In those moments of discomfort, old barriers can be broken down and new possibilities emerge. By working through what is hard to confront, you can begin to feel more in control of your story, your choices, and your growth. Though challenging, therapy can also be an opportunity to reclaim your voice and rediscover yourself.
My work is rooted in a holistic philosophy, taking into account the mind, body, and spirit. Depending on your needs and preferences, our sessions might include conversational therapy, guided meditation, or practical tools you can apply in daily life. This flexibility allows you to explore freely, while having access to approaches that best support your goals. My background in neuroscience complements my clinical training, giving me a deeper understanding of how thought patterns, emotions, and physiology interact.
As an integrative therapist, I draw from a range of methods to meet you where you are. My practice incorporates Gestalt, polyvagal-informed approaches, CBT, DBT, psychodynamic theory, person-centred counselling, and Transactional Analysis. I bring these together with technical eclecticism, meaning I adapt techniques in a way that suits you personally. For some, this may involve exploring patterns from the past; for others, it’s learning to manage difficult emotions or creating space to be heard without judgement. Whatever brings you here, we will work at your pace, building a therapeutic relationship that helps you feel supported, understood, and ready to grow.
