About me

Hi, I'm Kat. I'm looking forward to starting a therapy journey with you. I believe it is my role to create a safe space and build a relationship that helps you express and explore the more challenging things in life, to help you understand your feelings, break patterns, and find what you need.

I work with clients in a friendly and genuine way, and am curious and welcoming about all parts of you: tears, anger, laughter, and everything in between. I have experience working with neurodivergent clients and provide an open-minded, non-judgemental space for people from all backgrounds and lifestyles.

I work with adults of all ages, including many in their 20s and 30s going through life transitions, struggles with relationships and sexuality, and processing childhood experiences and family dynamics. Often this work involves finding links or patterns and exploring where behaviours and feelings originated, to find your life narrative and help you write a new one for the future. I also work with people who've experienced domestic abuse, both in romantic relationships and family settings, working to process the trauma and rediscover you after the abuse.

My approach is formally called person-centred or client-led, and really it means that I meet you where you are right now but also challenge you when needed, to help you towards change. It's a two-way relationship, and I work with both long-term therapeutic needs and short-term counselling as needed. If you have particular goals for therapy, I will hold those in mind as we work together.

I have also trained in compassion-focused therapy and trauma and anxiety techniques, so can offer guidance on managing these safely. I worked with the Salford Domestic Abuse clinic where I was trained specifically in domestic abuse recovery, giving me a deep understanding of the impact of abuse and how to support recovery.

Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or processing past experiences, I offer a warm, genuine therapeutic presence that meets you where you are and supports you in moving towards the life you want.
