About me
Hi, I’m Angel. I offer counselling and integrative psychotherapy in Manchester, supporting adults who want to feel more at home in themselves and in their lives. Originally from the United States, I understand what it can feel like to be a little out of place, whether that’s in a new country, a relationship, or within yourself. Many of the people I work with describe feeling anxious, self-critical, or disconnected, as though they are doing everything they should but still feel unsettled inside. Together, we will create a calm, reflective space where you can slow down, explore your experience, and begin to understand what might really be happening beneath the surface.
My approach is integrative and relational, meaning that the work is collaborative and responsive to your needs. I draw primarily on Integrative Transactional Analysis, while also incorporating ideas from eco-psychotherapy and neuroscience. In practice, this might involve exploring patterns in relationships, becoming more aware of how emotions are felt in the body, or understanding how the brain and nervous system respond to stress. My background as a teacher and coach helps me to adjust the structure of sessions to what is most useful for you. Sometimes that means offering gentle guidance and insight; other times it means providing time and space simply to be heard.
Therapy with me is not about fixing or changing who you are. It is about developing a clearer understanding of yourself and finding ways of being that work with your natural patterns rather than against them. For some people this involves discovering what truly matters to them, and for others it is the experience of being seen and understood with care. However we work, my aim is to help you feel more connected to yourself and more at ease in your life.
