About me

Hi, I’m Isabella May. I often ask clients: what might happen if we gave ourselves time to switch off, stop, and stand still?

Life can be busy, complicated, and sometimes overwhelming, and therapy offers a rare chance to pause, reflect, and process what you’re going through without pressure or judgement.

I practise person-centred therapy, grounded in the belief that every individual has the potential to grow and heal when given the right conditions. My role is not to give quick fixes or advice, but to create a safe, empathetic space where you feel truly heard. Together we’ll work at your pace, exploring what feels most important to you, and focusing on long-term change that feels authentic and sustainable.

Over the years I’ve supported adults in private practice, the third sector, NHS Talking Therapies, and employee assistance programmes (EAP). I have experience working with a wide range of concerns, from stress and anxiety to chronic depression and historic trauma. Alongside my private practice, I also work as a GP counsellor, which has given me valuable experience in both short-term and longer-term therapy, adapting the work to suit each client’s circumstances.

Sometimes therapy can feel challenging or uncomfortable, but through this process comes growth, acceptance, and a deeper connection with yourself. My aim is to provide a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can reflect, gain clarity, build resilience, and move towards greater self-understanding and wellbeing.
