About me

Hi, I’m Grant. I have been working as a counsellor for over three years and have delivered more than 1,900 clinical hours in that time. My professional journey began in drama education, where I developed a strong appreciation for creativity and the many different ways people express themselves. I later worked with adolescents experiencing social and behavioural difficulties, which gave me valuable insight into how important it is for young people to feel heard and supported. Alongside my counselling training, I also worked in special education settings, where I saw first-hand how neurodiversity shapes the lives of children, adolescents, and adults.

In more recent years, much of my focus has been on supporting adults who have received later-life diagnoses of ADHD or autism. For many, receiving a diagnosis can bring relief and clarity, but it may also raise new challenges and questions. Counselling offers a safe and supportive space to explore these experiences, and I find this work especially meaningful. Helping clients to understand what their diagnosis means for their identity, relationships, and day-to-day life has been a rewarding part of my practice.

Clients often describe our sessions as safe spaces where they feel lighter and more able to face what is troubling them. My approach is person-centred and guided by principles of playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy. I adapt to each individual, listening in ways that best suit their needs and encouraging them to grow at their own pace. I believe that through a warm and respectful encounter, people can develop greater self-awareness, express themselves more freely, and move towards living more authentically.
