About me
Hi, I’m Esther, a counsellor with 9 years of experience working with people facing a wide range of challenges. Before training in counselling, I worked in a variety of mental health, mentoring, and support roles, all of which deepened my commitment to helping people through difficult times. I now combine my private practice with overseeing an NHS Talking Therapies service, where I support people experiencing issues such as anxiety and depression.
I understand that therapy can feel daunting, so I aim to create a warm and welcoming space where you feel safe to share your story. My passion is to see people flourish and find the support they need — whether that’s coping with current stress, fears about the future, or addressing deeper-rooted experiences from the past.
My approach is primarily person-centred, which means I focus on building a strong, supportive relationship where you feel truly heard. Each client’s needs are unique, so I adapt the work to suit you, always moving at a pace that feels comfortable. For clients with a Christian faith, I can also offer a space to explore issues through a faith-based perspective, while maintaining the same confidentiality and support as in any other session.
I enjoy working creatively and may sometimes use objects, paper, or visual exercises to help explore issues in more depth. This can be especially helpful for people who find it difficult to put everything into words. Whether we work together short, medium, or long term, my goal is to provide a safe, empathetic environment where you can reflect, gain clarity, and feel supported in moving forward.
